IPDRG CODER
About the Role
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Accurately code medical services by reviewing medical records and encounter forms
• Apply ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT classification systems, and DRG methodology as per current guidelines
• Ensure correct sequencing and assignment of codes in compliance with official coding guidelines
• Interpret handwritten and transcribed clinical documentation and enter accurate data into coding systems
• Demonstrate strong understanding of disease processes, anatomy, and physiology for accurate code assignment
• Maintain high quality standards and ensure client deliverables meet accuracy benchmarks
• Adhere to productivity, quality, and turnaround time requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Graduation required
• Life science background preferred (Biochemistry, Microbiology, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Nursing)
EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 3 years of experience in PCS and DRG coding
• Hands-on experience with IPDRG coding
• Working experience on 3M encoder preferred
SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and DRG methodology
• In-depth understanding of anatomy and physiology
• Ability to read and interpret complex medical documentation
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Familiarity with healthcare coding quality standards
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts
CERTIFICATION:
• CCS certification from AHIMA OR
• CPC certification
