Job Description

JJ's Waste & Recycling is seeking an Injury Management Advisor to join its People Team in Queensland. This role focuses on coordinating injury management programs, supporting injured employees, and working closely with return-to-work and safety teams to ensure effective recovery and rehabilitation processes. The position involves regular site visits across South-East Queensland and occasional travel to other regions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate injury management activities for workplace injuries including early intervention strategies
• Support injured employees and managers in identifying suitable alternative duties during recovery
• Collaborate with the Return-to-Work Team to ensure consistent injury management practices
• Attend medical and rehabilitation appointments with employees when required
• Provide guidance to managers and safety partners on injury management best practices
• Liaise with insurers and relevant stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting
• Review employment medical assessments and fitness-for-work reports
• Support the management of non-work-related injuries and illnesses
• Travel across Queensland and occasionally interstate to support operational sites

Required Qualification

• Allied Health qualification or related discipline

• Strong experience in workers’ compensation, claims management, and return-to-work coordination
• Knowledge of workers’ compensation legislation in Queensland
• Experience in fitness-for-work assessments and recovery planning
• Understanding of Austroads medical standards (desirable)
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to travel across operational sites
