General Practitioner

Role & Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality, culturally safe, comprehensive primary healthcare services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and families
• Conduct full patient assessments including history, examination, and diagnostic investigations
• Develop and manage care plans for chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular, and respiratory conditions
• Provide preventive care, early intervention, and ongoing health management
• Work collaboratively with nurses, Aboriginal Health Workers, allied health, and administrative teams
• Support community outreach programs and health screening initiatives, including school health checks
• Contribute to quality improvement activities, audits, and incident reviews
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with organisational policies and clinical protocols
• Meet AHPRA registration and CPD requirements

Qualification
• MBBS or equivalent medical degree
• Current AHPRA registration as a Specialist Medical Practitioner
• Fellowship of RACGP or ACRRM

Experience
• Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities or underserved populations
• Demonstrated commitment to culturally safe and trauma-informed care
• Experience in multidisciplinary primary healthcare settings preferred

• Strong clinical diagnostic and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and health issues
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• High ethical standards and community-focused approach to care
