About the Role
Roles & Responsibilities
• Provide on-site general practice care to residents within aged care facilities across the Sunshine Coast
• Deliver comprehensive, relationship-based medical care focused on continuity and long-term outcomes
• Conduct clinical assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of aged care patients
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including nurses, telehealth specialists, geriatricians, and administrative staff
• Participate in coordinated care planning with facility teams and families
• Maintain accurate, high-quality clinical documentation using system-based reporting tools
• Uphold clinical governance, patient safety, and RACGP-aligned standards of care
• Focus on quality consultations with a manageable daily caseload
Qualification
• MBBS or equivalent medical degree
• Current AHPRA General or Specialist registration with no conditions
• Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM is mandatory
Experience
• Experience in general practice is required
• Prior exposure to aged care or community-based medicine is preferred
• Newly Fellowed GPs are encouraged to apply
Skills
• Strong clinical judgement and patient-centred care approach
• Excellent communication with elderly patients, families, and care teams
• Ability to work autonomously within a structured multidisciplinary model
• Comfortable using clinical software and system-based reporting tools
• Professional, ethical, and compassionate approach to care
