Job Description
As a Medical Advisor, you will be part of the Medical Affairs team, responsible for developing and executing medical strategies for pharmaceutical brands. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, and research to ensure that all initiatives are scientifically accurate and aligned with business objectives. The role involves working closely with healthcare professionals, managing clinical studies, supporting product launches, and providing medical insights that drive strategic decisions. Depending on experience, responsibilities may vary between Executive and Assistant Manager levels, with increased leadership and strategic ownership at higher levels. Responsibilities
• Provide scientific and medical input into brand strategy based on insights from healthcare professionals and KOLs
• Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop and execute strategic plans for key pharmaceutical products
• Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals and industry experts
• Participate in advisory board meetings, KOL engagements, and scientific discussions
• Support new product launches by preparing scientific materials such as slide decks, monographs, and FAQs
• Review promotional materials including visual aids (VA) and leave-behind literature (LBLs) for medical accuracy and compliance
• Lead or support Non-Interventional Studies (NIS) and clinical research activities
• Develop study protocols, documents, and obtain ethics committee approvals
• Coordinate investigator meetings and ensure proper study conduct and documentation
• Manage publications related to clinical studies and brand strategies
• Handle medical information requests and provide accurate scientific responses
• Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging clinical data
• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and ethical standards
• Travel as required (30–40%) for meetings, conferences, and field interactions
• Work proactively to identify and address potential issues before escalation
• Maintain high-quality documentation and reporting standards
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
• Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
• BAMS / BHMS
Experience
• Executive Level: 1–3 years of experience in medico-marketing or medical affairs
• Assistant Manager Level: 4–6 years of experience with proven ability to manage medical strategy
Skills and Competencies
• Strong understanding of therapeutic areas such as Cardiology, Diabetes, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Gynaecology, or Orthopaedics
