Job Description
• Position: 2026 Emergency Hospital Medical Officer (HMO)
• Location: Melbourne VIC
• Employment Type: Contract/Temporary
• Suitable for: PGY3+ doctors planning a career in Emergency Medicine or requiring ED experience for training pathways
• Network: Multiple emergency departments within Monash Health

Responsibilities
• Provide emergency medical assessment and management of acute patients
• Deliver safe and effective emergency care across adult and mixed ED settings
• Work collaboratively with ICU, Anaesthetics, and multidisciplinary teams
• Participate in clinical training and professional development programs
• Adhere to clinical governance, safety standards, and child safety requirements
• Maintain accurate documentation and high clinical practice standards
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
• Appropriate tertiary medical qualification
• Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Working with Children Certificate
Experience and Skills:
• PGY3+
• Interest in Emergency Medicine or specialty training pathway
