About the Role
Roles & Responsibilities
• Inspect pharmaceutical manufacturing units producing drugs specified under Schedule C
• Ensure compliance with the Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940 and Drugs & Cosmetics Rules, 1945
• Inspect manufacturing, testing, storage, and quality control processes
• Verify records, licenses, and regulatory documentation
• Collect samples and prepare inspection and compliance reports
• Take appropriate regulatory action in case of violations
• Perform duties assigned by the licensing authority
Qualification
• Degree in Pharmacy
OR
• Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences
OR
• Degree in Medicine with specialization in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology
• Degree must be from a university established in India by law (as per Rule 49 of Drugs & Cosmetics Rules, 1945)
Experience
• Minimum 18 months experience in manufacture of at least one substance specified in Schedule C
OR
• Minimum 18 months experience in testing of at least one Schedule C substance in a laboratory approved by the licensing authority
OR
• Minimum 3 years experience in inspection of firms manufacturing Schedule C substances during service as Drug Inspector
Skills
• Sound knowledge of Drugs & Cosmetics Act and regulatory framework
• Understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality systems
• Strong inspection, documentation, and reporting skills
• Attention to detail and compliance-oriented approach
