Dental Assistant

Role & Responsibilities
• Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures
• Take and develop dental radiographs
• Obtain patient medical history and perform dental OPD assessment as per NMC policy
• Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after treatment
• Sterilize and deliver instruments to the treatment area
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment by following protocols and regulations
• Provide post-treatment instructions for oral care to patients
• Maintain dental equipment by conducting preventive maintenance and troubleshooting malfunctions
• Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies
• Ensure patient confidentiality and protect sensitive information
• Assist in managing medical and dental emergencies
• Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality
• Schedule patient appointments and make follow-up calls
• Monitor inventory and restock dental supplies
• Provide emotional support to patients and families as needed
• Adhere to all safety, health, and infection control procedures
• Comply with NMC Policies and Procedures

Qualification
• Diploma in Nursing / Bachelor’s degree in dental technology or related field
• Regulatory license (MOH) to work as a dental assistant
• Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
• Arabic language skills are desirable

Experience
• 1–7 years of experience in a relevant healthcare role, preferably in UAE

• Knowledge of dental procedures and healthcare practices
• Ability to use dental equipment and understand safety protocols
• Strong communication skills for patient and staff interactions
• Organizational skills for record management and scheduling
• Attention to detail and ability to follow clinical instructions accurately
• Basic IT skills for handling medical software and patient databases
• Physical stamina to assist in patient care and clinical tasks
