Data Analyst (Mining Industry)
About the Role
Role & Responsibilities
• Collect, clean, and analyze geological, production, and operational mining data
• Monitor ore grade, production output, equipment performance, and safety metrics
• Develop dashboards and reports for mine planning and decision-making
• Identify trends, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities using data analysis
• Work with geologists, engineers, and operations teams to improve productivity
• Perform predictive analysis for equipment maintenance and resource estimation
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with mining regulations
Qualification
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mining Engineering, Geology, or related field
• Certification in Data Analytics / Business Analytics (preferred)
Experience
• 1–4 years in data analysis, preferably in mining, heavy industry, or manufacturing
• Experience with large datasets and industrial data systems
Skills
• Strong knowledge of Excel, SQL, Python or R
• Experience with Power BI / Tableau
• Understanding of mining operations and KPIs
• Statistical analysis & data visualization
• Problem-solving and analytical thinking
