Job Description

Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) is hiring a Consultant Physician for a full-time role at Tawam Hospital in Abu Dhabi. The physician will lead clinical care, supervise junior medical staff, manage complex medical cases, and ensure high standards of patient treatment and safety within the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients according to established medical best practices
• Supervise and oversee clinical activities of junior medical staff
• Lead ward rounds and regularly reassess inpatient and outpatient cases
• Ensure accurate documentation of patient medical records and treatment plans
• Review diagnostic results and modify treatments as required
• Collaborate with other medical specialties and healthcare teams
• Accept referrals from emergency departments, primary care, and specialty clinics
• Communicate medical information to patients and families when appropriate
• Provide out-of-hours on-call coverage including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Maintain a collaborative team-based approach to patient care

Managerial and Administrative Responsibilities

• Support hospital policies, procedures, and departmental initiatives
• Participate in performance management systems including peer review and productivity review
• Assist in scheduling and maintaining adequate medical coverage within the division
• Attend divisional meetings and support departmental management activities
• Assist the Division Chief with recruitment of medical staff when required
• Perform additional administrative or clinical duties as assigned

Quality and Safety

• Lead and support quality improvement initiatives within the department
• Promote clinical audits and encourage the use of audit outcomes for improving medical practice
• Support reporting and investigation of clinical incidents and safety concerns

Education and Research

• Guide and supervise junior medical staff and trainees
• Support training programs relevant to clinical staff in the specialty
• Demonstrate commitment to Continued Medical Education (CME)
• Participate in clinical research and academic publications
• Stay updated with current medical literature and healthcare innovations

Required Qualification

• Board certification in the relevant medical specialty
• Consultant-level medical qualification recognized internationally

Important Requirements

• Tier 1: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Consultant or equivalent post board certification
• Tier 2: Minimum 8 years of full-time employment as a Consultant or equivalent post board certification in an internationally accredited institute
• Clinical fellowship training may substitute experience for UAE nationals according to regulatory standards
• Strong leadership, clinical decision-making, and communication skills
• Ability to supervise and train junior medical staff
