Consultant Paediatric Surgeon

Role & Responsibilities
• Provide consultant-level paediatric surgical care for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents
• Perform elective and emergency paediatric surgical procedures
• Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments, operative planning, and post-operative management
• Participate in on-call duties and emergency surgical coverage as required
• Ensure optimal perioperative outcomes with strict adherence to patient safety standards
• Collaborate closely with paediatricians, neonatologists, anaesthesiologists, intensivists, nursing, and allied health teams
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, surgical meetings, and care planning
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation
• Adhere to DOH (HAAD) regulations, hospital policies, and international clinical guidelines
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and morbidity & mortality meetings
• Support teaching, mentoring, and supervision of junior medical staff when applicable

Qualification
• MBBS with recognised specialisation in Paediatric Surgery
• Recognised postgraduate qualification such as Board Certification or Fellowship
• Eligible for or holding a DOH (HAAD) Consultant License

Experience
• Consultant-level experience in paediatric surgery
• Broad exposure to neonatal and paediatric surgical cases
• Experience in tertiary or quaternary care centres is preferred
