Consultant Neurosurgeon

Roles & Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive neurosurgical care including diagnosis, surgical treatment, and post-operative management
• Perform elective and emergency neurosurgical procedures in line with international best practices
• Participate in on-call duties and emergency department coverage as per hospital schedule
• Lead, supervise, and mentor junior doctors, registrars, and allied healthcare staff
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate, timely medical records and clinical documentation
• Ensure compliance with MOHAP regulations, hospital policies, and clinical governance standards
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and research activities
• Contribute to teaching, training, and continuing medical education programs

Qualification
• MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution
• Specialist qualification in Neurosurgery (Arab Board, European Board, UK CCT, American Board, or equivalent)
• Eligibility for MOHAP Consultant license in the UAE

Experience
• 10 to 12 years of total experience
• Minimum 5 to 10 years of post-specialist experience as a Consultant Neurosurgeon
• Experience in complex neurosurgical procedures and emergency care

Skills
• Strong expertise in neurosurgical diagnosis and operative techniques
• Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making ability
• Leadership and team management skills
• Effective communication and patient counseling skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a multicultural healthcare environment
• Sub-specialty expertise in spine, neuro-oncology, trauma, vascular, or functional neurosurgery preferred
