Clinical Coordinator - Oncology

Role & Responsibilities
• Manage overall inpatient (IPD) patient care in Oncology / ICU settings
• Attend patients before consultant rounds and assess symptoms and general condition
• Update consultants on patient status, reports, and treatment readiness (including chemotherapy fitness)
• Participate in ward rounds and discuss treatment plans with consulting doctors
• Monitor patient progress through regular rounds and follow-ups
• Maintain patient waiting time standards as defined by the centre
• Collect and ensure completion of patient feedback forms
• Support centre targets by coordinating patient experience initiatives (including reviews where applicable)
• Order blood tests, document clinical notes, and maintain accurate medical records
• Counsel patients on chemotherapy procedures, duration, and address treatment-related queries
• Assist consultants and document clinical findings accurately
• Inform consultants promptly about any changes in patient condition
• Follow consultant instructions for individual patient treatment regimes
• Adhere strictly to hospital and company clinical policies and procedures
• Report clinical incidents, medication errors, and near-miss events
• Participate in clinical audits, governance activities, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualification
• BHMS or BAMS degree from a recognized institution

Experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Oncology and/or ICU departments
• Hands-on exposure to inpatient clinical coordination is mandatory

Skills
• Strong patient management and coordination skills
• Ability to work closely with consultants and multidisciplinary clinical teams
• Good clinical documentation and record-keeping skills
• Effective patient counselling and communication abilities
• Knowledge of chemotherapy workflows and ICU care protocols
• Understanding of clinical governance, risk management, and hospital policies
• Team-oriented mindset with attention to detail
