Roles & Responsibilities
• Lead and manage all hospital pharmacy operations including inpatient, outpatient, clinical pharmacy, and sterile compounding
• Ensure safe, accurate dispensing, storage, and distribution of medications
• Implement and monitor SOPs in line with hospital policies and regulatory standards
• Promote medication safety, quality assurance, and inventory control
• Collaborate with physicians and nursing teams to optimize medication therapy
• Participate in clinical rounds, medication review, and therapeutic committees
• Provide drug information and medication counseling to healthcare professionals and patients
• Ensure compliance with DHA regulations, JCI/accreditation standards, and international guidelines
• Oversee controlled drugs management and documentation
• Prepare for and manage internal and external audits and inspections
• Manage pharmacy department budgeting, procurement, and cost optimization
• Lead recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and development of pharmacy staff
• Monitor KPIs, lead quality improvement initiatives, and manage medication error investigations
Qualification
• Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
• Postgraduate qualification in Clinical/Hospital Pharmacy or related field preferred
Experience
• Minimum 8-10 years of hospital pharmacy experience
• At least 3-5 years in a supervisory or leadership role
Licensure & Eligibility
• Eligible for Dubai Health Authority (DHA) license
• Valid license from a recognized authority (DHA or eligible GCC license)
Skills
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• In-depth knowledge of hospital pharmacy systems and clinical pharmacy practices
• Expertise in pharmaceutical regulations, pharmacovigilance, and medication safety
• Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making abilities
