About the Role
Role & Responsibilities
• Provide medical assessment and clinical care to hospitalised patients
• Complete comprehensive patient admission assessments in a timely manner
• Order, review, and act on investigations
• Consult with VMOs regarding patient condition and care plans
• Provide effective first-line management during medical emergencies
• Participate in onsite shifts, overnight duties, and weekend on-call coverage
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary clinical team
Qualification
• Medical degree
• Full Medical Registration with AHPRA
Experience
• Minimum PGY3+
• Recent acute hospital experience within Australia
Skills
• High-level clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Competency in Advanced Life Support (ALS) with current certification
• Paediatric ALS competency highly regarded (and required if appointed)
• Ability to obtain a Medicare Provider Number
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
Additional Requirements
• National Police Check (within last 12 months)
• Working With Children Check (if required)
• Proof of immunisation against infectious diseases
