Job Description
• Position: Career Medical Officer – ICU
• Location: Mater Private Hospital Townsville, Queensland
• Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time, Permanent Part-Time or Casual
• Setting: Level 6, 10-bed tertiary Intensive Care Unit
• Roster: 11-hour day shifts and 14-hour night shifts (24/7 service)

Responsibilities
• Manage critically ill patients within a tertiary ICU setting
• Perform advanced airway management and emergency procedures
• Insert arterial lines and central venous catheters
• Collaborate with Intensivists and multidisciplinary ICU team
• Deliver high-quality, patient-focused care
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and compliance standards

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements:
• Medical Degree
• Registered Medical Practitioner with AHPRA

Experience and Skills:
• Minimum 3 years post-graduate clinical experience
• Preferably 6 months in Anaesthetics
• At least 6 months in ICU and/or Emergency Medicine
• Current PLS qualification or willingness to obtain
• Proficiency in airway management (BVM, intubation, LMA insertion)
• Competency in arterial line and central venous catheter placement
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
