About the Role
Role & Responsibilities
• Provide proactive clinical supervision and medical management of ICU patients
• Deliver medical cover in collaboration with Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs) and specialty teams
• Undertake procedures as requested including emergency assistance such as caesarean sections
• Provide clinical direction to staff to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
• Ensure compliance with hospital By-Laws, policies, National Standards and relevant legislation
• Participate actively in Workplace Health & Safety and Quality Improvement initiatives
• Support Hospital CMO and multidisciplinary teams in delivering patient-centred care
Qualification
• Registered Medical Practitioner with AHPRA Registration
• Degree in Medicine from a recognised tertiary institution
• Current Medical Indemnity Insurance for private healthcare practice
• Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
• Membership of relevant professional organisation
• Immunisation evidence
Experience
• Demonstrated clinical and procedural experience in a hospital setting
• Ability to insert PICC/CVC and arterial lines
• Experience in cannulation, arterial and venous puncture, and fluid resuscitation
• Experience in acute care or critical care environment preferred
• Previous experience in a private hospital facility desirable
Skills
• Strong collaborative interpersonal and leadership skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
• Proficient computer skills and experience with reporting systems
• Commitment to professional development and structured learning programs
• Ability to work effectively in a busy clinical environment
