About the Role
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Deliver acute and critical care physiotherapy services within General Surgery and Critical Care
• Manage ward-based cardiorespiratory and complex surgical patient caseloads
• Provide physiotherapy services to General Surgical units including Upper GI, Colorectal, Thoracics, ENT, Plastics, Breast and Endocrine
• Provide Grade 2 leadership and supervision to junior and casual staff during weekend physiotherapy services
• Support additional cardiorespiratory caseloads as required
• Deliver person-centred, holistic, and collaborative peri-operative care
• Contribute to research and quality improvement programs
• Participate in stream portfolios and departmental committees
• Support supervision and training of physiotherapy staff and students
• Ensure safe, high-quality patient care aligned with organisational values and the Live Best Care framework
Qualification:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy
• Current AHPRA registration
• Satisfactory Police Record Check
• Immunisation status clearance (including COVID-19 vaccination evidence)
• Working with Children Check (if applicable)
Experience:
• Experience managing acute, cardiorespiratory and complex surgical patients in a hospital setting
• Experience in critical care physiotherapy (desirable)
• Interest or experience in supervision and clinical education
• Involvement in research and quality improvement activities (preferred)
